We have a brand new 3 year old in the Cole household. Of course that also means that Dada and Gdaddy are a year older, but we don't have to disclose those numbers.
Jacob started out the day with a present, but our Jacob is not at all interested in ripping wrapping paper. As a matter of fact, he makes a face of pure disgust when paper is being ripped. We thought a little practice couldn't hurt.
Kate just watched and gave fist bumps.
After a good nap, we celebrated the Cole men by having our favorite people over to the house to enjoy our favorite bar-b-que. You wouldn't know it by looking at the birthday boy, but he had a steady fever of about 102 to 103 for most of the day. Luckily he was still happy.
We were very informal and Jacob opened presents as he came upon them. Clearly everyone knows what Jacob likes! He stocked up on letters, numbers, bubbles, electronics, college funds oh my!
He also played a little Dance Revolution with his cousins and of course we sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY! In an effort to minimize any potential fire damage, we opted for 3 candles for Jacob, 1 for Dada, and 1 for Gdaddy.
Jacob took his birthday duties seriously and made sure those candles were blown out. Gdaddy monitored the situation and was ready to leap in if fire erupted.
Let's not forget our Kate! She was loved by Gdaddy and Grammy...
and of course her cousins who will help do Kate's hair once she grows some.
We tried to get a picture of all the cousins, but Jacob was not interested in sitting still.
By the end of the birthday, Jacob was exhausted and a little deliriously happy. He loves having his family all together.
