9 Months

Happy 9 months!  The hardest and the best 9 months of our lives.
Jacob's 2 bottom teeth have been joined by several teeth on top!!!  He is now a seasoned eater and doesn't turn food down.  Jacob especially loves to eat anything we are eating.  Growth is definitely not a problem and those 12 month pajamas get a little harder to zip up each day.
Vocally, Jacob doesn't mind expressing himself in ear piercing screams.....especially when the microwave is being used.  Oh my, Jacob loves the microwave.  He screams in anticipation of the door opening.

Toys?  Yes, Jacob loves noisy things, but we are glad that he also enjoys books.  I feel like we have memorized See the Sea, Moo Baa La La La, and I Love You Through and Through.  Our boy is also a pro at throwing anything and everything he has in his hand.  We have a new found love of chomping on Pooh Bear's face.

Sleep?  We have turned a corner and Jacob now sleeps all night in his crib.

Crawling?  Not yet, but oh so close.  Jacob loves to stand (with help) and he loves to "walk" behind his push toy.

Look at that precious baby!  He is perfect.

Dziadzio's Birthday

Dziadzio celebrated his 60th birthday this year so on Saturday we all got together for a party.  Jacob started out the evening opening a few presents from Uncle Paul and Annemarie.  Warm pajamas are always welcome.  Especially since it has been so chilly lately.
Every get together at Babcia and Dziadzio's house involves a wardrobe malfunction.  After a change of clothes, Jacob was once again happy.  Seems like Jacob really enjoys parties and all the attention he gets because he was pretty content even though he hadn't napped in hours and it was getting dangerously close to bedtime.

As always, there was a ton of food and we all gained 5lbs just by looking at it.  I hope we get to enjoy leftovers tomorrow!
It appears Jacob spent a little time with the adults.  He may have been eating chicken wings.

Finally we sang Happy Birthday to Dziadzio.
We didn't want to damage the cake with 60 candles so we opted for 6.  Dziadzio did some breathing exercises and was able to blow them out without any problems.

Happy Birthday, Dziadzio.

NYC Bear Relocates

Paul and Annemarie spent Christmas in New York City.  They had a great time!
A couple days into the trip they adopted a little bear and made sure to take him all around the city.  Mr Bear had a couple run ins with the NYC Police, but his background appears to check out.
Mr Bear was a pro at getting around the city and using public transportation.  He must be a local.
There were plenty of opportunities for culture so Mr Bear spent a little time with Marry Poppins and listening to opera in the subway among other things.....
Unlimited amounts of food made Mr Bear very happy.  We were surprised he wasn't escorted out of the frozen yogurt place after throwing his head under the dispenser.
Of course there was plenty of shopping.
Sightseeing was a must and Mr Bear had plenty of that while in NYC.
After all that excitement, Mr Bear arrived in middle Tennessee and was adopted by Jacob.  They became fast friends and Jacob is showing him the ropes of living in Murfreesboro.

Snow Day

We had a slight dusting of snow and Jacob got to enjoy it briefly through the glass door.

It was too cold to go out, but we entertained ourselves with lots of toys, some snacks, and a few naps.  Jacob had a very stuffy nose, but he still threw out some smiles for the camera.

Also, someone is learning to pull himself up.  Any moment now, we expect him to just take off crawling.

First Smiles of 2012

Uncle Paul stopped in and Jacob was all smiles.  Yes, Jacob is the most precious baby in the world.  Was there any question?

8 Months

Jacob turned 8 months old at the end of 2011.  He is thriving and has given us immense joy this year.  We are so thankful to have such a wonderful son.  The developments are countless....

His bottom two little teeth are clearly visible and he loves to put everything in his mouth.  Hands and fingers  (and chins and noses) are not safe from these little teeth.  The little chompers are sharp and almost as dangerous as his finger nails.

No crawling yet, but there is some scooting happening.  Standing makes Jacob very happy.

Also, Jacob is quite social.  He hands out smiles and loves to keep an eye on people.  People watching keeps him quiet and occupied during mass.  He also loves to find things and looks around constantly.  The newest skill is screaming an ear piercing scream!

We should note that there have been a few fits.  Could this be foreshadowing what is to come?  Right now we think it is hilarious to see him get very angry when you take something away.

Christmas was good to our little boy.  He acquired so many new toys and he just can't get enough of them.  Melissa stopped by (before she headed back to school) and gave Jacob an opportunity to perfect his gift opening skills.  All the practice at Christmas paid off and he can now rip through paper with the best of them.

All these wonderful toys and of course he still reaches for the remote controls and computer keyboard and his basket of books.  One of the newest favorite activities is to pull the books out of the basket one by one.  He will do this over and over!
