Katie is One YEAR old!

Katie is the sweetest and most snuggly one year old.  We cannot get enough of our cute girl.

She is usually smiling and is more open of strangers, but still generally prefers her immediate circle of people.  She loves her big brother even when he wants to play with every toy.

Katie is eating like a champ and will be your best friend if you are in the kitchen.  Her current favorites are cheerios and anything Babcia is eating.  But she is certainly petite since she is just now growing out of her 6 month clothing.......so she is still a teeny tiny girl.

For her first birthday, Katie got a cupcake!  She was all smiles and didn't really like getting messy.

Oh how quickly this year flew by...

Katie loves to play.  She is a pro at pulling herself up and cruising around furniture.  She has taken a few steps on her own, but you can tell she is our cautious child and would rather crawl.  And my oh my she is a FAST crawler...

We love our Katie!

Katie has grown so much this year.  She recognizes her name, knows how to crawl up the stairs, open cabinets, hugs her babies, loves baths and yogurt, and drinks out of a cup!

Wow what a huge year!  Happy first birthday sweet Katie-bug.  We sure do love our big girl and can't wait to see all she learns in year two!

February Snows and March Birthdays

February and March were some of the COLDEST months we can remember!  Grammy, GDaddy, and the girls came to visit before a big snowstorm hit and we loved seeing them.

They brought Jacob and Katie a couple Valentine balloons as well as some art for our bare walls.  Jacob thought it was "amazing" how the balloons floated up.  We loved seeing everyone, but the trip was too short.  The next day they all left for home as Jacob napped so when he woke up, Jacob looked around and said "oh no, they are gone!"

Katie was especially loving Ashley on this trip.

Well only a few days later we had an ice storm!  Luckily, our power stayed on, but TN was basically shut down.  Everything closed......even the Interstates.  We thought the next day would be back to normal, but we had a good sized snow fall!!!

So far Katie's first winter and our first winter in the new house have been eventful!

And then we had a bunch of birthdays......Uncle Paul, Katie, and I all celebrate in March!

Uncle Paul visited frequently to get us settled and to make sure we hadn't broken anything.....while Jacob tried to learn as much as he could from his beloved Uncle Paul.

Jacob saw our old kitchen table in the garage and sat down and said "Jacob's favorite table".

When not sick or being forced into child labor, Jacob was able to get some learning.  Apparently 8, Q, and R were on the agenda. 

And lots of cute art projects.......We got a magnet with Jacob's face.  The magnet expresses Jacob's thanks for being sent to school, but his expression says otherwise.

And we blinked and March was over.....
