10 Months

Ten months have flown by and all too soon we will have a one year old!  It is all going by too fast.
Jacob is a wonderful baby. He loves to play, read, "walk" and scream! We lowered the crib just in time because the following night Brandon found Jacob standing in his crib. We choose to believe that was the first time. All this pulling up and "walking" is keeping us busy, but Jacob is always full of energy.  He started crawling on his 10 month birthday and hasn't looked back.

Jacob still loves green beans, bananas. and now yogurt (and will try anything). Trying anything got us in trouble a few weeks ago when Jacob got his first bite of scrambled eggs at Uncle Paul's house and broke out in hives! Let's just say we won't be sampling anymore of those for a while longer.
Opening cabinets is a fun activity, but "walking" is still the favorite!  Jacob started crawling on February 26th when he saw a toy across the room that he couldn't resist.  And let's not forget our first visit to a National Park.
Everything is interesting and deserves a grab or swat.
And if you take something away......
Jacob still loves bathtime. He "walks" into the bathroom and immediately looks for his yellow kitty bath toy. The kitty has replaced the tug boat as the new favorite bath toy. The kitty's ear and head is pretty tasty. Upon being placed in the tub, he switches sides just to make it more difficult for Brandon! Splashing is also a favorite activity, but the walls need a good washing every once in a while.
We also have quite the reader on our hands.......Jacob gets his hands on a magazine or newspaper and devours it......yes, everything goes in Jacob's mouth.  Dolly Parton sent Jacob a Spot lift the flap book and Jacob loved it so much that almost all the flaps are missing.

We went to see Dr Perkins on Monday the 27th and he gave us a great report.  According to Dr. Perkins, Jacob is perfect and healthy and he weighed in at 24 lbs and 2 oz.  No wonder my arms get tired so quickly.  Here is our little man smiling before the doctor entered.

Stones River National Battlefield

After an exciting morning of Jacob starting to crawl, we decided to head out to the Stones River National Battlefield.  Dana was in town for work so she spent the weekend visiting with us and meeting Jacob.  What better reason to head outside and take Jacob to his first National Park!

Park Ranger Keith was kind enough to take a picture with Jacob and document his first visit with a stamped card.
We walked around the park and checked out the monuments.

We had a wonderful day full of firsts and loved having Dana in town!

It's Cold Outside

We have had a very mild winter until this week when it got very cold.  Thankfully Annemarie sent Jacob a warm winter bunting outfit.  We tried it out right away.  At first Jacob was a little skeptical about being trapped in a sack....
But he warmed up pretty quickly and was all smiles...
Jacob loved it even more when he found out we were headed outside to enjoy the cold crisp air and sunshine.  He even caught a glimpse of a few cars which made our boy smile.

Thank you, Annemarie.
