First Cupcake

Happy Birthday, Jacob!

Jacob had his first cupcake on his first birthday!

The frosting was a nuisance and got on Jacob's fingers.
But then he got comfortable with making a little mess....
and then a slightly bigger mess......

 Jacob even tasted the cake.

Mostly the cake and icing ended up on the floor and walls.....

Happy Birthday!!!

Happy Easter

On Easter Sunday we went to Mass very early (6:30 AM) and while it was a full house, we know it would be standing room only at all the later services.  Oddly, we are all used to waking up that early!!  After visiting Jesus, we had a little time so we came home to play cars and dig into the Easter treats.

The chocolate had to wait since we were headed to Babcia and Dziadzio's house for some delicious foods and Easter egg hunting.  The bunny was very generous this year.

Uncle Paul brings out the smiles in Jacob.

Jacob had to show him who is boss

We eat the traditional Easter soup only at Easter so we certainly look forward to it.  As always, Babcia outdid herself and all the food was delicious!

We also had some amazing weather so we spent a little time outside.
Jacob immediately got to work pulling grass.  It is hard work and there is lots of the green stuff to pull.

After a quick outfit change, Jacob got to work on the grass again.
 We also practiced our walking....

 And some falling...
It was a great Easter with the family....
Happy Easter!

German Bear

Uncle Paul boarded a double-decker airplane.....
...and flew to Germany...
...to see Annemarie!
Apparently NYC Bear heard about the trip and took advantage of the luggage space to get some international culture (and drink some beer)!
Annemarie was a great hostess and showed NYC Bear all of the sites.  He is used to big cities so he settled right in mapping out the routes, sightseeing, eating, and drinking.
A few too many beers and NYC bear had to consult the maps more then once.
It appears there was much fun had by all.  Eating and drinking were a big part of the trip...
Many statues and monuments were visited....
and many sights seen...
Believe it or not, NYC Bear brought home a friend and is now showing her the ropes of living in Middle Tennessee.  Welcome home, Luxemburg Bear.

11 Months

The eleventh month got away from us, but it was a great eleven months......Happy 11 months!  Jacob is such a big boy.  Where did our tiny baby go?

He sure has grown....

The growth is a result of his awesome eating and his awesome eating has a little to so with all those teeth that keep popping in.  We are so blessed that he will still eat anything.  Thankfully, Jacob likes Babcia's cooking and looks forward to a medley of potatoes, broccoli, carrots, and turkey.  He has now eaten a variety of fruit as well.  Keep up the good eating!

Jacob is also such a sponge and learns so much every day.  He knows just where to look for Dziadzio or Uncle Paul or Dada or the bear or his truck.  We are amazed by how much he seems to understand.

Jacob has gotten a little creative with picking up his pacifier.  Sometimes he is too busy to use his hands so he lowers his face instead.

On their way through town, Kristin and Allen came to visit us in March.  Jacob had a rough night so they may not be back, but he sure LOVED Kristin!!!  Kristin has a doctorate in Psychology so at least he is attracted to the intelligent and established women.

He is almost a teenager....
But he is still our baby.
We love our Jacob!
