Happy Halloween!

We had a busy Halloween evening.  Of course, we ate lots of candy and even passed a few pieces out!

This year Jacob wore his skeleton sleeper........he glows in the dark and is very easy to locate in the crib.

The skeleton then ate dinner!

Rice Cereal

Happy 6 month birthday!

It was a beautiful day so Jacob and Brandon celebrated by taking a walk through the neighborhood. 

Once I got home, we dusted off the gummy spoon, put on the monogrammed "JRC" bib, and popped the top on some rice cereal.  I never imagined eating would go so well. 

The excitement is building.

 etc.....

 Rice cereal is pretty good after 6 months of nothing but milk!

 

 In the end there may have been more on Jacob's face, but there was definitely some in the belly as well.

 Cereal coma......

 And we had enough cereal.

 DONE!!!!!!!!

Remnants of rice cereal were visible all over Jacob's face so a bath was in order!  Check out that awesome sitting!

Cole Family Reunion

Well, we packed up the house (like the Clampits) and drove down to Dyersburg for a Cole family reunion.  If Jacob ever gets a sibling then we might have to get a fifteen passenger van to haul all of our stuff!
Saturday was a beautiful day and the reunion had a great turnout.  We had Cole family members come in from as far away as Kansas City and Atlanta and as close as Dyersburg city limits!  The Bradshaw farm was a beautiful backdrop.  We were able to talk, eat, and play Cole trivia.  I was very happy to get to know some of the family members I hadn't had the opportunity to meet.  Jacob met the family and was very interested in his cousins Aiden and Wyatt.  They put into perspective just how "healthy" our boy is.   

After all the fun, we took some pictures (and Jacob napped).

Unfortunately we don't have the group picture, but maybe someone does and can email it to us.

G-daddy's dad was one of 4 siblings?......you'd think I would know that after the Cole trivia!  Here we have the Cole cousins. 

And of course we had to have a picture of G-daddy with his brother (Uncle Bill) and sister (Aunt Sara Jane).

While at the farm, Brandon took a few pictures of the girls and Jacob for grammy's Christmas card.  It was a little late in the day and I was very skeptical that Jacob would smile, but he delivered!!!!  I definitely worked for it jumping and waving my arms to get his attention, but what a smile we got.  The girls also did a great job sitting on the rock with all the daddy long leg spiders.  I would not have been so brave!  Here are some of my favorites.

  

 

 

   

After all the fun, we headed back to the house with the girls where we introduced them to Angry Birds and their need for an iPad.  You are welcome, g-daddy.
 
Sunday came and went too fast, but we got back to Murfreesboro (with a box full of books for Jacob) just in time for mass and an early Thanksgiving dinner (for Nick since he is headed back to work in Afghanistan).  Jacob had his "first" cold so we didn't stay long, but the food looked delicious and made me look forward to a huge meal in November!

Planking or Tummy Time

Well, it was bound to happen.  The Internet craze known as planking has hit the Cole household.  It may be a very loose interpretation of planking (aka tummy time in the baby world).

 Check out that lift on both arms and legs.

 Planking is exhausting so you have to take many breaks and taste fingers.
  All in an average "no pants Saturday"!!!!

 Only Jacob can pull off horizontal strips on both his shirt and socks!
