3 Months

Wow!  Three months have passed since we first met and we still can't believe how blessed we are.  We also can't believe how quickly three months have gone by!!

We are sure Jacob has doubled his weight by this point.  There is a solid preference for 3 to 6 month onsies and rompers (aka sacks).  And best of all, we are getting real smiles out of Jacob.  We love the cooing and conversational noises he is making too!  Bath time remains a favorite....especially for Brandon and I!

Jacob loves to eat his hands and could harness energy from all the arm and leg movements he makes.  He can also fall asleep anywhere

Since our 2 month celebration, Jacob has ridden on his first ride on toy.  He was really just propped up on the ride on toy, but it still counts.

And regularly gives his pops fist bumps/daps prior to bedtime.

We have a real character on our hands.

Jacob is also starting to enjoy the bumbo for at least a minute at a time or until his head flops to one side.  Notice the awesome marathon onsie from Uncle Paul.

We have even moved the straps in the carseat so that Jacob has a little more upward growth.  Thankfully we figured out that the straps are adjustable before Jacob had to be folded in half to fit into the seat.  Obviously, he is not getting enough to eat and love is scarce around the Cole household!

Baptism

Jacob was baptized on Saturday at Saint Rose.  It was a beautiful but extremely hot day.

Grammy and G-daddy arrived from Dyersburg to share the occasion with our hometown crowd.  Ashley, Jaden and Lane could not make it, but gifted Jacob a beautiful smocked outfit that was perfect for the big day.
Jacob, Grammy, G-daddy and Brandon all rode in one car.  Godfather Paul drove separately.  Babcia and Dziadzio rounded out the car parade from our house.  I just barely made it into Babcia and Dziadzio's car before they left (no one told them that I was supposed to ride with them and as a result I was left standing in the house as I heard all the cars pull away and the garage door lower).  I had a Molly Ringwald (Sixteen Candles) moment.  You better believe everyone made sure I got into a car for the drive home from the church.

Everyone was in good spirits upon arrival at the church and Brandon acted as the impromptu hair dresser while Uncle Gary played the role of security to keep all the adoring fans at bay.

Father Mark did a wonderful job with the Baptism and Jacob was a great sport about getting water poured on his head three times.  I had a firm grip on his leg just in case!  Thankfully, Godmother Melissa is a lifeguard!
We really like Father Mark and hope he stays with our parish for a long time to come.  He has a great sense of humor and made us all laugh during the ceremony.  Jacob came in a close second with some funny faces and rapid arm and leg motion.

Godfather Paul and Godmother Melissa are wonderful role models and we know they will help guide our boy in the Catholic faith.

Notice how pale Melissa looks next to Jacob's sun kissed skin!

We were joined at church by our photogenic family and the party continued at our home.  Babcia made enough delicious food to feed an army.  This was a very special day and we are so blessed to be able to share it with such a large and loving extended family!

Water Water!

The bath has become our nightly ritual and no one loves it more then Jacob! He is very serious and demands perfection with the water temperature and soapy bubbles.

Water in general has become a favorite around the Cole house. Jacob finds it so soothing that we have considered purchasing a water fountain, but have opted instead to turn the kitchen sink on in moments of desperation. Although turning the kitchen sink on could lead to a sleeping baby so this is done at your own risk!

4th of July

We had our first trip to Dyersburg over the 4th of July weekend to visit Grammy, G-daddy, Ashley, Jaden, and Lane. The trip down was easy with only one stop at the Jackson Chick-Fil-A of course.

Jacob was lucky enough to spend some quality time with Grammy and G-daddy on Saturday. We compared Jacob to Brandon's baby pictures and it appears that Jacob is the spitting image of his pops! He is a true Cole.

On Sunday the girls arrived and after some initial fussiness, Jacob was a hit with the girls. They enjoyed talking to him and walking with him outside. He liked all the attention as well.

We had a pre-4th of July fireworks display in front of Grammy and G-daddy's house and Jacob slept through the whole thing. Next year he will be out there with the girls chasing parachute men fireworks and tank fireworks and writing his name with a sparkler!

On the 4th, Uncle Joe and Jennifer stopped in for a BBQ lunch. The food was delicious as always, but we had to leave shortly thereafter to get home. That evening, Jacob slept soundly through many a firework going off around our house.

It was a great weekend and we cannot wait to do it again next year!
