Discovery Center Fun

It was bitterly cold today, but Jacob and Dada celebrated Martin Luther King Day by rising really early in the morning (after a night of iffy sleep).  One banana breakfast and early morning nap later and they ventured to the Discovery Center!

After a few timid moments, Jacob decided to play and he had a great time!  First Jacob (and his crazy hair) enjoyed a block table.
Next Jacob went vertical and stacked some blocks.
And of course, Jacob played with the train.
The gears were fun.
And the trip was rounded out with some good old fashioned car driving!
How fun!

Merry Christmas 2012

Jacob had quite the busy Christmas this year.

We awoke at our usual early hour and drove West to visit Grammy, G-daddy, and the girls in Dyersburg for the annual family Christmas.

Jacob napped for most of the way down and then kept busy on the iPhone for the last leg of the drive.

We arrived just in time to visit with everyone, eat some delicious food, play, and open presents.
Jacob didn't appreciate slowing down for pictures.
Jacob LOVED his new Going To Bed Book and there were fun new trucks and blocks to play with!
After a good nap, we headed out to a Santa party.  Jacob enjoyed riding the train while the girls tried out the trampoline and Ferris Wheel.  Brrrr, it was chilly.  Thank goodness there was hot chocolate and a bonfire.
Since it was so cold, we didn't stay for Santa's arrival, but we tried out his chair.  I think Jacob knew who would be sitting in that chair and he didn't want any part of it.
Next, we went to see the living Nativity.
Luckily, Jacob didn't venture into the enclosure to pet any animals this year, but the girls went in and stepped in a surprise!  Jacob just looked at the animals from afar.
The next day we opened more presents.......and Jacob tested out a new choo choo and a Sit N Spin.  Jacob was also the recipient of some new clothes, which he promptly pushed back into the box.
At some point, Jacob got a hold of the camera and took some self pictures, documenting his chin and shirt!
These silly girls must have been very good this year.
They were surprised with an iPad!
We loved spending time with Grammy and G-daddy, but we had to head back home Monday for Christmas with Babcia, Dziadzio and the rest of the Murfreesboro family.  After our traditional dinner, we heard Santa dropped off a few things early so we opened some more presents......

Jacob got a drill and immediately started pointing it and saying bzzzzzzzzzzz, bzzzzzzz.
The present opening marathon continued on Christmas Day when Santa stopped over.
And finally God-Mother Melissa stopped over and we got one last round of opening presents under our belts.
What a busy Christmas!
