We are Home!

We were discharged from the hospital on Friday, April 29th. I wanted to return that evening to drop Jacob off at the nursery, but Brandon felt this might be frowned upon.

The weather was beautiful and I was thrilled to be outside after so many rainy days in the hospital room. Our nurse helped us buckle Jacob into the carseat and a volunteer wheeled Jacob and I down to the car. Of course people could not help but comment on our little man dressed in a precious sleeper and bunny hat. There is a short window of time that I can dress him in these hilarious and all too cute outfits and I plan to take full advantage.

Brandon drove us home very carefully.

In the days following our return home, we had many visitors. He slept angelically in many arms and really made a great first impression. Nights were another story and it was definitely an adjustment waking up so often.

Welcome Jacob!

Brandon and I spent Easter weekend 2011 as a family of two. This is our last picture together pre-baby!
Of course I had to get a shot with the future God Father!
After work on Monday, we had a delicious dinner and we talked about how things would be different in 24 hours when we became a family of three. This was such a momentous occasion for us that Brandon even forgot that it was his and Dad's birthday the following day.

On Tuesday, April 26th, Brandon and I arrived at the hospital around 1PM and were escorted to the room that would be our home for the next few days. Everyone was very friendly and really put me at ease through the whole process. I was asked to change into a fashionable hospital gown and Brandon received some professional looking scrubs. We couldn't help but take a picture and laugh at ourselves. After a few hours of monitoring and paperwork, we were ready to meet Jacob.

Jacob Ronald Cole joined us on April 26, 2011 at 4:23 PM. He shares a birthday with Brandon and G-Daddy so it is only appropriate that he also share a name with them. We were very excited to meet Jacob and see who it was that had spent all these months kicking me!

Jacob weighed in at 7 lbs 15 oz and was 20.5 inches long. Pretty darn good for someone entering the world about 1.5 weeks early (due date May 6th).

In attendance from Dyersburg were Grammy and G-daddy Cole as well as Ashley, Jaden, and Lane. Our in town crowd included Babcia, Uncle Paul and Aunt Angela. The weather was very unpredictable with flood warnings and tornado watches so we were very blessed to have our family make the trip.

Of course everyone wanted to hold him and he obliged. Unfortunately, G-daddy got a crying version.

The following day we got a much better shot of G-Daddy surrounded by all the grandkids.

Paul did a wonderful job documenting Jacob's arrival through glass in the waiting room and then with the whole family in our room, but we were still able to get a few shots of Jacob with his loving God Father. Jacob is a beautiful subject if I do say so myself.

Dziadzio was able to visit with Jacob the following day.

Jacob is such a precious boy.
