Merry Christmas

Christmas day was wonderful. We woke up early and celebrated as a family of three!  Notice Jacob looking all dapper in his vest and bow tie........formal and relaxed.

Then we hit the road to visit Grammy, G-daddy, and the girls in Dyersburg and to celebrate Christmas with the Cole/Hinson family. The girls were eagerly awaiting our arrival.......which meant we could jump right into opening presents.  What fun!

 Not to worry, Jacob wasn't the only one to receive some awesome gifts.....

Jacob was the recipient of the coveted Santa tag.  For as long as Brandon can remember one person gets the Santa tag each Christmas.  I was lucky enough to get it on my first Christmas with the family.

Even Grammy and G-daddy got in on the fun!  Look at those excited faces!

Monday was Christmas with the Hinson family.  It was time for the famous stocking stuffers!

And then we became a family of four........when Woody joined the family!

Brandon and G-daddy received fly swatters that play phrases when you swat them.  Jacob really enjoyed this and laughed heartily.  This went on for several minutes and turned Jacob from a sleepy head to the life of the party.

I was there too! 

 The girls got some really cool masks.

 Grammy cooked incredible foods and everyone had a wonderful time.

Christmas Eve 2011

Christmas Eve is always spent at Babcia and Dziadzio's house.  As always, we ate until we were about to burst.  But this year we had a special guest....Uncle John stopped in from Florida.  Paul was in New York City so we saved him some carrot cake.

While we ate, Jacob played (and sampled some mashed potatoes).

Believe it or not, Santa stopped by right after we finished eating.  That guy sure has good timing.  Of course we had to open presents.  Alex got busy passing out the gifts.....the light boxes were shirts.  

Jacob was distracted by the tree and lights, but somehow he focused enough to open a couple presents/taste the wrapping paper.

Jacob loves his Curious George and stacking blocks.  He will definitely be sporting his new outfits in the coming days.  What a lucky boy!

Babcia helped Jacob touch the tree.

Christmas Eve with the family was wonderful.

 That bear looks like it might attack.

 

After all the fun, Brandon and I took a sleepy little guy to mass......(the 8PM version of midnight mass).  He did well and went right to sleep once we got home.  I am sure Santa will be visiting Jacob in the morning.

O Christmas Tree

Jacob got busy decorating the tree.  Such a lucky boy to have a couple of his own ornaments.  We put them low enough for Jacob to admire. 

He especially loves the lights, but doesn't quite understand the concept of being gentle.

Jacob loves Babcia's tree as well.  Babcia let Jacob touch the tree by himself once and now she holds his hand and guides his touch to avoid any disasters!

It appears the wise men arrived in cars this year.

We are so excited about Christmas!
