2 Months

Happy 2 months!!!

Jacob is a joy. We have really noticed his growth in June. No more newborn onsies for this boy, we are in 0 to 3 month onsies with a preference for the roomier 3 month type. Diapers remain at size 1.


We love swinging, tummy time, and being held. Jacob has started sitting in the carrier which makes holding him all day a little easier.

In June, Jacob watched daddy run the Doughboy 5K and then enjoyed some time at the Murfreesboro Farmer's Market on the square.



Also in June, Jacob spent his first full day with Babcia since I went back to work. I was told that they had an amazing day where Jacob was loved and held and generally spoiled.



Of course, we also had a doctor visit on June 28th where Jacob received his first series of shots. He weighs in at 13 lbs 10 oz and is 22.5 inches long. We were told this puts our boy in the 83rd percentile. Obviously our child doesn't eat enough!

Let's not forget we celebrated Father's Day in the month of June.  Jacob went online and ordered a very nice card for his dear dad.

1 Month

Well a whole month has passed and Jacob is thriving. We cannot get enough of his sweet face. During this first month of life, we are ticking off many milestones and trying our hardest to enjoy each one.



Jacob's first trip out of the house was to Publix! He enjoyed sleeping through grocery shopping. Our second trip out came a week later when we went to the doctor on May 3rd. Our baby boy is so perfect that Dr Perkins didn't want to see us again until the 2 month mark. Likewise, our trips to church have been pretty uneventful since Jacob sleeps right through the Saturday mass. Here he is all dressed up for the Steeplechase.


I am sure all those late night meals are helping our boy grow like a weed. Coincidentally, milk is his favorite food. He is out of newborn diapers and into size 1. The onsie is our preferred clothing during the day and gowns at night. Swaddling has definitely come in handy. We are starting to notice little baby rolls forming and Jacob still has a full head of hair. His eyes remain blue, but we still can't figure out who he looks like since we were both bald babies. Jacob is amazing with the computer so Grammy and G-Daddy have been able to keep up with his growth via Skype.




Jacob is holding his head up better each day! Uncle Paul helped us to document this with countless pictures.


We have seen a smile a few times, but the smile remains elusive for the camera. Of course, we understand this may be gas. We choose to believe otherwise.


We even celebrated our first Mother's Day with lots of kisses, milk breaks, and naps!


Jacob sleeps comfortably on the floor, in the swing, in anyone's arms, and in his cradle (made lovingly by Uncle Gary). Overall, Jacob is a perfect baby. Sleeping lots during the day and waking frequently at night. Evenings are not our favorite time of the day and many tears are shed (by Jacob too).
