Higher Ground

Jacob is into everything!  Nothing is safe and everything has been moved to high shelves and cabinets.  We are running out of space he can't reach.

Our plants are under attack.  Every cabinet and drawer has to be opened.  Stairs are being climbed.  Faucets are constantly turned on.

Our curtains have become a playground.  Jacob will run behind the curtain and wrap himself up and squeal with delight.

He knows he is not supposed to be playing in the curtains.
 Troublemaker.
Jacob sure has lots of energy!

12 Month Stats

Jacob had his 12 month appointment this afternoon, but we are a little off and he is really at 13 months and 15 days.

Our big boy was ready to go see Dr. Perkins or maybe to go outside.  He was so excited that he fell and skinned his knee....again (the first time being last week when he was pushing his mower on the driveway at Babcia's house).
Jacob is growing!
He weighed in at 26 lbs 1.5 oz (11.84 kg) which puts him in the 94th percentile.
He is 32 inches (81.28 cm) long which is also in the 94th percentile.
His head is 19 inches (48.26 cm) in circumference which is in the 92nd percentile.

Takes after his dada all the way around!

After a busy doctor's visit and a few errands, we came home and relaxed.

Dough Boy 5K

Brandon and Jacob got out the door extra early Saturday morning to pick up Uncle Paul and run the Doughboy 5K.  This is Jacob's second year participating so he was confident he would take the title for his age group.
Before hitting the pavement, he met up with Maggie Moo and showed off his abs.
 She didn't seem impressed.
After checking in, Jacob rested on Uncle Paul's shoulder and exercised his voice by singing a little song.

He also met the Doughboy and made sure to pat the big guy!
Jacob beat dada to the finish line, but made sure to congratulate his dada on a good run!
Stretching is very important after a 5K.

He even showed Uncle Paul the proper way to stretch.

Exercise safely!

Lazy June....

May was full of family celebrations including Alex's First Holy Communion, Christopher's graduation from Father Ryan High School, and welcoming Nick and Scott home!  We got spoiled with weekends full of delicious food.

June is starting out a little more low key with good old fashioned cheerios......
 and playtime.......

and golf.....of course.

Dzien Dziecka (International Children's Day)

June 1st is International Children's Day.

Jacob celebrated with Babcia so we know he had a great time!  He has learned to clap his hands, point out things, and dance!  He gets so excited when he sees an airplane in the sky.

He continued the party at home by being strolled through the neighborhood and playing blocks!

Right before going to bed, Jacob got a few dances in....
and he read a couple books!
We LOVE our Jacob!

Memorial Day Weekend in Dyersburg

Saturday morning we drove to Dyersburg for the long Memorial Day weekend.  The weather was supposed to be very warm so we got on the road early and made our usual stop in Jackson to stretch our legs.

Grammy, G-daddy, and the girls were ready for us and we jumped right into celebrating Jacob's birthday for the 3rd time!  The gift bag was as big as Jacob!

He got some great new toys and clothes, but the paper still gives him so much joy.

Jacob loves his new tractor and boat.  He makes the best car sounds.

The celebration continued well into the evening with Jacob's favorite veggies (broccoli and carrots) and G-Daddy's delicious grilled chicken.
Sunday Jacob got up bright and early to eat some yogurt and practice yelling.  After a nice walk outside, Jacob even showed G-daddy his awesome dancing moves.  Jacob loved touching the blinds and would look around to make sure we all noticed he was getting ready to touch them.  "No, no, Jacob" became the statement of the day!

After a good Sunday morning nap, we started celebrating again by eating ice cream cake!!!  YUM!

It got so hot outside that we had to entertain our selves indoors reading books and playing peekaboo for most of the day, but as soon as the sun started setting we headed outside to stroll along the cart path and watch the men hit some golf balls.

Ashley got creative and used water to entertain Jacob!  He had a great time.

We were sad to leave, but Grammy and G-Daddy's ear drums need some time to recover from all of Jacob's screaming.
